I'd be down to level something.

SK or Shaman, probably? I'm really open to whatever, though.

I'm an EQ newbie, so, whatever is the least "knowing what the gently caress you're doing" dependant.

Well, I'm ready to do this whenever. Got SoD patched up from the live install. It works, I guess.

All the buttons/text on the interface (not in game) have a different "string not found" error.

I can still get in game. After a little click roulette.

I played a few years ago and have a 34 necro. I'll go ahead and make a 2nd account for sharing purposes.

Just made my SK, name is Seladen, currently progressing through the dream.

I went human, and put 10 in stam and 10 in charisma. Is this a good choice? Or does it not really matter?

The patcher files etc are in your AppData folder now. C:\Users\Default\AppData. Atleast that's what a broadcast said a couple of days ago, I haven't tried out the new patcher.

And on the Titanium vs. Live thing, I've had 0 problems whatsoever with the live client, other than the missing zone files, which has since been fixed via the SoD patcher. Don't think EQPN is necessary with the live install.

Been playing again as a monk/shaman duo Himoe and Scaypaf having a good bit of fun this time around, hooked up with Norit on his warrior last night and got close to a dozen levels. Sitting at around level 22 if anyone has something in that range and wants to group up, let me know!

Well, listsold seems pretty devoid of anything in the level 30 range.

Any goons that can make warpmetal weapons or have anything in the 30s range for a monk?

So I got my duo to Newport and am almost level 3 on each. What's the best way to get geared up? Are there certain quests I should do? Should I be crafting stuff? Vendor items? I have no loving clue where to begin...

No matter what you do, get the haste necklace out of Cesspits for your monk. Even if it takes you a couple of days.

http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Strands_of_Reanimation

It's fantastic, as there aren't any other haste item options for a long time, and are prohibitively expensive for a first-timer. The extra haste goes a long way with how short the combo window is. (or was, haven't played in awhile).

After debating starting on SoD for like...two years (usually end up playing P99, EQLive, or recently, Sleeper), I think I'm ready to give it a roll. I've been boxing on Sleeper, and to be honest, I mostly hate it. How dumb would it be to start up a Beastlord without boxing? I'd like to be able to solo reasonably well if I didn't have time to get a group going. I don't expect it to be the most efficient, just something that would actually be possible.

Beastlord wouldn't be terrible to solo with. But, in my opinion, not boxing a druid for your first character on the server would be doing yourself a huge disservice. But coming from p99 you may be more inclined to smash yourself in the balls for fun.

On that note, I just picked up SoD again (played a bit before and during the last account drive). Leveling a monk and enjoying myself so far. Due to the fact that I got a druid to 61 during that period. Soloing would be so much slower. No downtime = best time.

That and the fat stack of plat Superfli6 hooked me up with many months ago.

Is there some sort of comprehensive list of new/upgraded features with the new client?

I'll probably just use the live patcher then to get the most up to date files so to not run into any problems later. Can I download EQ via live patcher from work then just copy the EQ folder after its done to my home system, then just SoD patch it at home? Or does it require a proper "install" on a computer with all that Registry and AppData malarky that makes it impossible to move software from computer-to-computer easily.

I've copy/pasted EQ directories plenty of time. (Off an external to my hard drive, both titanium and live installs.) It works.

I rolled up an enchanter and wizard. I really like this server, but I've never stuck around due to not having anyone to play with. We'll see this time, if I can get an invite.

Having a bit of an issue with installation - as soon as the patcher's done, AVG detects EQW.exe as a threat and removes it. Is there anything I should be doing differently?

Using something other than AVG. Whitelist it, it's not a virus.
